President: Phillip Barrero

(biography)

Phillip Barrero grew up in Texas on his family’s farm. There, he spent time researching and learning about the human body and what it takes to be a doctor. He began volunteering at the Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital during his freshman year of high school and later volunteered at the Houston Methodist Hospital. He interned at the Pearland Healthcare Center and Angleton Danbury Hospital later in his high school career in order to gain experience in the profession. He likes soccer, volunteering at the food bank, good films, and playing the trombone.  He is BLS certified and just finished an EMT basic training course. Phillip has recently started the Readers 4 Life Project in order to inform more of the population about science through free reading. He is currently working towards his goal of becoming a cardiovascular surgeon.

 

 

 

Skye

Vice-President: Skye Beck

(biography)

Skye Beck is a high school senior who has high ambitions for her future.  She is an active member of H.O.S.A. and the National Honor Society.  Skye also tutors elementary school students and has interned under an ophthalmologist.  After high school, she plans to major in biomedical sciences and minor in biology and psychology.  Skye plans to go through medical school to eventually become an OBGyn who travels to third world countries helping the women get the care they deserve.

 

 

Kameron Vo

Book Drive Coordinator:  Kameron Vo

(Biography)

Kameron Vo was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  He is currently a junior at Shadow Creek Ranch High School.  Kameron is the eldest of six siblings.  His passions include traveling, playing soccer, playing video games, and helping others.  Kameron spends time helping his little brother as he learns to read and is currently also helping to teach his little sister the alphabet.  He enjoys working with children and looks forward to the opportunity to travel to Haiti with Coreluv International where he will volunteer at their orphanage.  While Kameron has not decided on his career goals, he does know that he enjoys working with technology and plans to pursue a career that will allow him to use his strengths in Math and Science.  Kameron recently began training in simple coding with MT Works software engineering firm.  He has joined Phillip in the Readers 4 Life project in hopes of making reading more accessible to the children of their community.  Kameron looks forward to getting the community’s first book box placed in the near future.

 

 

Aarya Head & Shoulder

Membership Coordinator:  Aarya Patel

(Biography)

Aarya Patel grew up in Texas to small-time business owners. From a very early age, he was exposed to the ins and outs of how a business works.  Throughout his high school career, he did an internship for a CPA and began taking a larger role in his family business.  Because of this, his passion grew.  Being scuba certified, a varsity soccer player, and film enthusiast, Aarya has a passion for many things. To spread the idea of being passionate about various things, Aarya joined the Readers 4 Life project.  Aarya is currently working toward his goal of getting an MBA and eventually joining the Navy.
