Phillip Barrero

Student Biography
Phillip Barrero grew up in Texas on his family’s farm. There, he spent time researching and learning about the human body and what it takes to be a doctor. He began volunteering at the Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital during his freshman year of high school and later volunteered at the Houston Methodist Hospital. He interned at the Pearland Healthcare Center and Angleton Danbury Hospital later in his high school career in order to gain experience in the profession. He likes soccer, volunteering at the food bank, good films, and playing the trombone. He is BLS certified and just finished an EMT basic training course. Phillip has recently started the Readers 4 Life Project in order to inform more of the population about science through free reading. He is currently working towards his goal of becoming a cardiovascular surgeon.
